Before diving into crafting that next blog post, shooting your upcoming video, or unveiling your brand-new product, it’s pivotal to carefully think about how your audience will engage and interact with what you offer.
Now, when I say “script”, don’t let your mind wander to thick bundles of screenplay pages or complex flowcharts. Rather, I’m encouraging you to step into the shoes of the very person you’re targeting.
• If you were the reader, what would you think of this post?
• When exploring your website, what would you like to see, and where?
• Is there something missing? Maybe something that feels redundant?
• How do certain phrases or images make you feel?
For instance, when I titled this “Scripts,” I imagined a reader picturing big stacks of paper and complex charts. That’s why I clarified right away what I meant by “scripts.”
Let’s go deeper. Imagine someone hitting play on your video reel. Are they on a bustling subway during their morning commute, skimming with no sound? Or maybe unwinding at home in the evening, seeking a serene visual treat? Tailoring your reel with these moments in mind can make all the difference in connecting with your audience.
Also, predict how users will discover your website. Will they be searching for it on their computer, browsing on their phone, or clicking from social media?
Every detail matters. Your mission is to anticipate these moments and smooth out any bumps in the road. This way, you’re not just offering a product, but a beautifully crafted experience.
