Meta has announced a new range of Meta One subscriptions for business accounts. There are 4 tiers, and importantly, the price is per Facebook Page, Instagram account or WhatsApp Business number:
⭐️ Essential — $14.99/month
⭐️ Advanced — $49.99/month
⭐️ Expert — $149/month
⭐️ Max — $499/month
Each tier includes everything from the one below it, plus extra features. And there are quite a few of them. It’s a slightly random mix of tools and perks across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
But the part I find most interesting is the new limit on links.
Something we’ve been able to do freely for years is now limited to just 2 link shares per month, with more links being offered as a perk of the paid plans:
➡️ Advanced — 8 links in Facebook posts/Reels and 4 on Instagram
➡️ Expert — 20 on Facebook and 8 on Instagram
➡️ Max — unlimited
So, what else do you actually get for your money?
➡️ Essential — essentially Meta Verified: a verification badge and a page where you can add up to 20 links to your bio.
➡️ Advanced — 1 support case per month, more advanced content scheduling, audience growth tools, Facebook Custom Audience insights and team access to Instagram.
➡️ Expert — up to 5 support cases, access for a team of up to 8 people and more broadcast credits on WhatsApp.
And then there’s the slightly ironic bit: paid support.
Meta has had notoriously limited support for years, and now access to actual human help is being turned into a paid perk 🙃
Personally, I think for most small businesses, the most useful part is verification and basic account protection, which you get with Essential. The higher tiers seem much more relevant to larger teams and businesses with bigger budgets.
And before you sign up for one of the higher tiers, do the maths. The subscription is charged per connected account, so that monthly cost can add up very quickly.
